Funday Sunday

Well, yesterday was not too different than many other Sundays for our house, but we did do some fun things, so I thought I'd share.  We started our day with Sunday School and Church, but this Sunday we started something new before going to our SS class, we now have an assembly for about 15-20 minutes before SS starts on the 1st Sunday of each month.  Daniel was asked to help lead the music by playing the guitar, he is helping the only other "Annice" I know, but she spells her name, "Annis". Funny. right?  Anyway, they did a great job!  After SS and a great sermon about Love we were treated to a Souper Bowl lunch by our PYC Kids (Presbyterian Youth Connection).  The proceeds will help them go on a retreat this spring.  Once we got home we had some straighten up the house time and then put John Mac down for a nap.  Edi requested a family game of LIFE, so we played that together(gracious, that's a long game!).  Once John Mac woke up from his nap we decided spend a little time outside since it was nice out.  It was a little cool, but still we were able to enjoy some sunshine without the rain of late.  John Mac enjoyed his tractor and the girls worked on their bike riding.  We just do not have a great place to ride bikes, lots of  grass and no concrete and no subdivision.  After that we went in to get baths and Daniel decided that he wanted to cook on the grill for dinner instead of what I had planned and when the word steaks was mentioned, I was all in.  So he went to the store while I gave the kids a bath.  Edi usually takes a shower and Amelia has even started taking a shower with her, but when I mentioned a bubble bath they all wanted in the tub.  After about 10 minutes in the tub the girls started screaming that John Mac had pooped in the tub; Oh No, Super Gross!!!!  I put a towel on the floor and got them out and made them stand their in the cold until I could clean and drain the tub; and after a little gagging, new water, and new bubbles they were back to playing like it had never happened.  Really Gross!  After a great dinner, we got ready to watch the Super Bowl which we had paused while we ate.  John Mac was down around 7:30pm, Amelia fell asleep on the couch about 8:30pm and Edi headed to bed after the halftime show.  I clipped coupons and made my grocery list during the second half and was pleased when the Packers won.  We are not big football fans and I usually choose the underdog to pull for when it's not the Panthers, so it was nice to pull for a winning team.  I could not wait until later this week to watch the new Glee that came on after the Super Bowl, so I watched it last night and got to bed later than I had hoped.  But that's ok, it was a great day with my family and Glee was really good!  Love My Family and that Show!
Amelia's Preschool Class got the Attendance Award for February.  They have 3 regulars in her class.

Monkey Business!

Yesterday we celebrated John Mac's 2nd Birthday!!!  He will actually be 2 on Thursday the 10th, but yesterday we did the big cake and all the goodies with family and friends.   He is a true little monkey with all his cuteness and climbing abilities, so we had a Monkey themed party.  I even made him and the girls shirts to natch the decorations.  They were just too cute!  The party was so much fun and everyone enjoyed themselves.  We asked for no gifts, but still a few showed up, mostly from grandparents and such.  His biggest gift(literally) was his new John Deere tractor and trailer ride-on toy.  He was not so sure about it at first, but after a few of the other kids showed him how it worked, he was in love.  He cried when I told him it was time to leave.  After his nap today I hope we can get outside in this nice weather and take it for a spin.  I truly cannot believe that he is almost 2 years old, time does fly by!

T-Shirts I made.

Celebrate Plate I made for all our birthdays, I made it this Fall at the local pottery place, we now put it up for a week around our birthdays.

Early Risers

Thursday Night's sleep was a little less restful than normal around our house.  John Mac woke me up crying around 10:30pm, but after a few minutes he was able to put himself back to sleep.  Around Midnight Amelia got up to tell me there were yellow and black bugs crawling on her walls and she was scared, I was able to get her back to sleep fairly quickly.  John Mac then decides to wake up again around 3am and was screaming at the top of his lungs, he was not going back to sleep without a little comfort first. So, I got him up, changed his diaper, got his lovie beary and pacey, fixed him a little milk and we rocked in Daniel's recliner for about 10 minutes and then he was ready for bed again, no problem.  At a little before 4am after I had just fallen back to sleep Amelia comes into the room telling me she's wet.  We had forgotten to put a pull-up on that night.  They ended up in their PJs early on Thursday night, so I told her she could wait to put her pull-up on just before she went to bed, oh well, we forgot.  After getting new PJs on and getting everything off her bed, I fixed her a spot on the floor in her sleeping bag, which she loves to sleep in and then she was back to sleep.  My clock then went off at 6:10am and as I snuggled down deep into the covers to snooze a few minutes longer before starting the day, the little man woke once again screaming and after a few minutes I knew he was not settling back down, so I went to get him so we could rock and he would hopefully go back to sleep.  He usually sleeps until 8am or later.  When I got to his room it was pith black; his nightlight had burned out, poor baby was scared I think.  The girls are typically early risers, but on school days I usually have to wake them up by 7am, other days they are usually up before then.  But John Mac's crying woke them up, so I let them all pile into our bed to watch Thomas the Train around 6:30am while I began getting ready for the day.  They looked so cute all snuggled in our bed, I just had to take a picture.  This morning both girls were up well before 7am and John Mac slept until 9:15am.  They are so precious even in the midnight hours!  We are so Blessed!!!

A Little John Mac Time

Last Saturday while Daniel and I took the girls to Wheels of Fun, my parents watched John Mac.  While he was there he spent lots of time with my Dad outside.  He loves to be outside and he is becoming quit the little helper.  My parents have a barn and donkeys, so they went down to feed the donkeys, rode around  the pond, checked on the land, and went to my Aunt's house all on the golf cart.  He thinks he's big enough to drive it, so he sits in my dad's lap and steers.  My Aunt and Uncle had their 4 granddaughters over, so he had lots of fun playing with them.  When they got back to the house my dad got the Jeep out for John Mac to play with and he's starting to get the hang of it.  He even took over a 2 hour nap for them, they wore him out!  My parents had a great time spending one on one time with him and he loves going to their house.
