I seriously cannot believe how long it's been since I blogged. I/We have had so much going on that I kept putting it off like blogging is a burden when in fact I love it and have come to realize how much I've missed it. I will try to bullet point our last 3 months along with a few pictures.
*The last weekend in July we went to the beach again for my cousin Sarah and her husband Will's vow renewal ceremony. It was a lovely time.
*We stayed at the beach through August 7th which was very nice.
*While we were at the beach we got our first offer on our house, which I'm not sure I posted anything about it being for sale, but we put our house and our rental house on the market in April.
*By the middle of August we accepted an offer on our house with a closing in late September.
*August 19th we had Edi's birthday party! She invited a few friends over for a sleepover and we took them to the movies and out to eat. They are so hilarious!
*August 24th Edi turned 10 years old! I can hardly believe she's 10! My how time flies!
*August 25th was Edi's first day of 5th Grade!
*August 29th Amelia started her staggered entry into Kindergarten and had her first ride home on the bus! She loves it!
*Labor Day Weekend we celebrated with friends and family at the Annual Dove Hunt!
*September 6th John Mac started going to a church preschool that has a class for 2 year olds. He loves it so much. He goes 2 mornings a week.
He wore his little backpack for 2 weeks before he started school!
*September we packed and packed for the move into my parent's house and the house I grew up in. My parent's built a house and were in the process of moving out the same time we were moving in. They still have not moved all their stuff, but at least they are now physically out of the house. We are hoping to start building a new house in the next few months.
*September 21st both girls started Girls Scouts together!
*September 24th we celebrated Daniel's 41st Birthday and we had a Yard Sale that morning.
*September 29th we closed on our house! Bittersweet! It was our first house together and where we brought all our babies home to, we will miss it, but we look forward to our new place. The couple that moved in got married just a couple of years ago and this is their first house. They will be able to start their family there and they are such a sweet couple.
Our Temporary Home
*October 8th my brother and I took his daughter and my 2 girls to the Scotty McCreery Concert in Raleigh. They had a BLAST!
*October 10th we celebrated my brother's 34th birthday!
*October 12th we celebrated Amber's 23rd birthday! Oh My!
*October 13th went to a class about creating a Life Book for John Mac, it was really fun and informative!
*October 19th I went with Amelia on her first Kindergarten Field Trip!
*October 31st we went Trick or Treating at one house, Sad Right? It was pouring down rain, so we went to my mom and dad's and I called ahead and had her hide candy around the house to make it a little more fun!
Buzz Lightyear, a Bride, and a Cowgirl
* November 1st AM; John Mac had a little Party at school!
*November 1st PM; my brother called to tell me that the school had called him about Caroline and that she had head lice, so we knew that most likely the girls had it to. They spend lots of time together. He had them pulled out of class and sure enough they did too. The process to rid them was horrific and I would not wish them on my worst enemy. There has been a high # of cases at some area schools over the past month. I did not know much about them, but I sure do now. YUCK!!!
Just a few of the products we had to use to rid the girls of creators and
laundry detergent was our best friend!
November 5th Daniel and I went on a date. It just so happened that all the kids were at friends and grandparents since they were officially lice free, so we went out to dinner and then came home and watched a movie.
*November 7th I started Body by Vi and so far I've lost 3.4lbs. and I'm really loving the shakes!
*November 10th I started this post and I'm stressing about this house and how we still have boxes around and it just doesn't feel like home yet. I'm trying really hard to get some crafts ready for the bazaar at our church, which is next Saturday, but I don't know if I will and Edi is so upset because she loves helping me make them and sell them. I have to remember that I have so much to be thankful for and not to sweat the small stuff. God is always in control!
*November 11th I'm hoping to finish this post! I'm thankful today and everyday for our military and our veterans. I'm realizing that my birthday is in 10 days. I'm also getting ready to spend a wonderful day tomorrow at our adoption agency's annual picnic in honor of National Adoption Month!
