It's John Mac's GOTCHA Day!

One year ago today we were headed to Matthews to meet "someone".  We did not have any idea that the "someone" was a baby boy only 9 days old.  We of course thought that the "someone" was a girl that had seen our profile and wanted to meet us to see if she wanted to choose us to parent her unborn child.  Well, that was not the case.  When the ladies at CAS walked into Mrs. Doris' office one of them was holding a precious baby boy and they told us that he was ours!  Oh, the sheer JOY.  We both started crying and could not believe what was happening.  It was one of the best days of my life!
We are not doing anything really special today, but we are remembering what happened on this wonderful day last year!  You can go to the November 12, 2009 Post on the Blog to read exactly how this day last year played out.  A lot of the November 2009 posts are about our adoption.  Here are some pictures from that day and now!

The Return of the SNOW!!!

This past weekend we got another dose of winter weather.  It was so beautiful and no ice. It made the best snow cream.  I still have some in the freezer.  The girls went to my Mom and Dad's on Saturday to play in the snow with them and my niece.  My Dad was in California for work during the last winter storm.  John Mac did not get out in it this time.  Here are some pictures from Saturday, Feb. 13th.

Birthday Party Fun!!!

Today we had John Mac's Birthday party.  It was originally scheduled for Feb. 6 with the snow and rain the week and days before we decided that our yard was just too wet for the numerous vehicles that would be driving in it.  I could not have picked a better day to celebrate our beautiful heart baby's birthday that Valentine's Day.  Oh, Happy Valentine's Day Everyone!!!  Close Family and Friends came to celebrate the wonderful day.  John Mac enjoyed the cake a lot!  What a wonderful day God Blessed us with!

HAPPY 1st BIRTHDAY TO MY LITTLE MAN, JOHN MAC!!!

Yesterday February 10th was John Mac's 1st Birthday.  I was gone most of the day on a field trip with Edi and then when I did get home to post this birthday message our computer was out due to the strong winds here yesterday and Daniel did not get it fixed until about 10pm.  I was not feeling like doing it then.
Anyway, my baby is now a year old and I can't hardly believe it.  A year ago we did not even know he had been born.  It wasn't until the 19th that we found out about him and got to take him home.  I thought about his birth parents a lot yesterday.  I wonder if they thought about him.  I cannot imagine my life without him and it feels like he's been a part of our family forever.  Which with every child I have had the same feeling, you just don't remember your life before them, I guess that is the way it's suppose to be.
He was not awake before I had to leave yesterday morning so the girls and I woke him and then sang to him.  He cried of course, he could not figure out why we were doing all we were doing, it was not his typical morning routine.  Tuesday night I made a homemade lasagna so that we could have it as his birthday dinner last night.  So we ate dinner and then opened 2 of his presents.  The first was clothes and the second was a ride-on fire truck.  The girls loved the truck as much as he did!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY PRECIOUS BOY!
WE LOVE YOU!
