Trip to Marbles Kid's Museum

Last Sunday the 24th we were invited to a Birthday Party at Marbles Kid's Museum.  The kids had a lot of fun.  It's a really cool place.  When we left the museum we went by Krispy Kreme Doughnuts.  Amelia was so tired she started falling asleep while she was eating.  It was Hilarious.  Edi and I are suppose to go to the museum this coming Wednesday with her class, but with the snow I don't know if we'll be able to go or not.  Here are some pictures from our day.

Markers and Guitars

I've been a little slow this month with my postings.  This happened about 2 weeks ago.  Amelia and a little friend of ours were coloring with markers in the playroom.  I knew John Mac was in the playroom with them, but did not know that the older 2 had left the markers without putting them away and that John Mac got into them.  When I came into the room he was sucking on an orange marker.  After getting on the older 2 to clean the markers up I just had to take some pictures of his face.  It was not washable and it stayed around awhile even giving him a little rash.  Later that night Daniel was playing the guitar and John Mac joined in as usual.  You can see the rash around his mouth.  He loves music and loves it when Daniel plays.

2009 Man of the Year

On Monday January 11th, 2010 Daniel was awarded the 2009 Man of the Year Award in our local Community.  Daniel founded a Cub Scout Pack in 2003 and later a Boy Scout Troop in our area.  He grew up in Scouting and received his Eagle Scout rank in 1988.  He is currently the local Troop Commissioner and holds several other positions in local Packs and Troops.  One of his scouts nominated him for this award without his knowledge.  On Monday the 4th I got a call from the scout's mom telling me that Daniel had been chosen and that we would need to trick him to get him to the awards ceremony on the 11th.  I told him that the scout was getting an award and that he really wanted Daniel to be there.
On the 11th we got ready and I hid the video camera in my pocketbook and we headed to the banquet.  There were a number of awards given out that night and we ate a great dinner.  When the award was announced I got out my camera and the presenter started talking about Daniel without using his name.  About 3 seconds in he realized that the award was not for the scout but for him.  He was speechless.  It was a wonderful surprise and he still cannot believe it.  He has done a lot for scouting in our community and continues to do so.  I am so proud of him!
